Adventure: Cromwell Valley State Park

Located just north of Baltimore City, Maryland is the hidden natural area Cromwell Valley State Park. The park opened in 1993 on 426 acres of land with open fields, woods, cultivated gardens, and orchards. The park has a vast amount of footpaths and trails for all age groups. Our main interest in our recent visit of the park were a report of Baltimore and Orchard Orioles. So far we have visited a couple of times and have spotted a nesting family of Orchard Orioles, a female Baltimore Oriole, Robins, Eastern Blue Birds, Sparrows, Finches, and many other species of birds. The common milkweed also has started to develop their flowers and Monarch Butterflies have been starting to appear in those areas.
